A local car dealer stepped up recently to help Veterans get around to their appointments.

The Brenengen Auto Group donated a 2013 Dodge Caravan to the Tomah VA Medical Center. A ceremony was held July 14 where Don Brenengen handed over the vehicle.

“I wanted to do something for Veterans,” Brenengen says. “My wife and my sons decided that this was a good thing.”

The van will be added to the fleet of more than 50 vehicles used to transport Veterans says Terry Dwyer, Mobility Manager for the Tomah VA Medical Center.

“Last year we drove more than one million miles transporting Veterans,” Dwyer says. “We’re transporting between 40 – 60 Veterans each day to get them to-and-from their appointments.”
