VA Video Connect

The VA Video Connect app links Veterans with their health care team from anywhere, using encryption to ensure a secure and private session. The app makes VA health care more convenient and reduces travel times for Veterans, especially those in very rural areas. It also allows for quick and easy health care access from any mobile device.
“Social workers, Veterans, mental health professionals, speech therapists, and occupational therapists are currently using VA Video Connect and we’re looking to expand to caregiver support and substance abuse,” said Katrin Metcalf, Acting Facility Telehealth Coordinator.
The Veteran uses their device (smartphone, computer, tablet, etc) to connect to their provider - saving time on traveling to the medical center and negates transportation issues and scheduling problems.
Access to care has increased due to VA Video Connect. It allowing Denise Carter, Nurse Practitioner, and others to work on Saturdays which are more convenient for many Veterans.
“I can see up to 12 additional Veterans on a Saturday,” she says.
To use the VA Video Connect App, you must:
• Be enrolled in VA health care.
• Have an email account where the link to the Virtual Medial Room can be sent and accessed to start the video appointment.
• Have a DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) Account – The VA Video Connect App can access your VA Electronic Health Record
(EHR) and therefore, for your security, requires a DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) Account. If you do not have a DS Logon Level 2 (Premium) Account, or you are not sure, visit our website for more information.
• If you’re using an Apple iOS device to access the app, you will need to download the Pexip Infinity Connect Mobile App before you can enter the virtual medical room.
